I have been working with Joanne Sourant for over 2 years. She has provided valuable insight into ADHD and how it impacts my child (now in 9th grade). I have learned a lot from Joanne about how to support my child as well as how to communicate with his teachers so that they can better support him as well. Joanne always has fresh insight as new challenges arise and is also great at reminding me what progress has been made in times when I feel frustrated.

Joanne has been working with our 11th grade son on executive function and study skills. It's amazing how routine and orgainzation can make such a difference in his grades. She is also helping him understand his ADHD and how it affects his life. She's even coached me on his ADHD and it's helped me to understand his struggles better.

Joanne has been the miracle we needed to help our daughter. Our daughter has been taking sessions with her for a year now and we have seen such great improvement and confidence out of her in that time. Joanne is such a positive, calm and upbeat person. We really can’t say enough good things about her and hope that if you have a child who struggles you give Joanne the opportunity to help them.

Joanne worked with my 4th grader on executive function for almost a year. She took the time to get to know him and develop a relationship with him whereby he was always excited for their chats and always had things he couldn't wait to share with her. She used visual aids and practical examples to help him understand some of his struggles and her tips have really helped him to develop his self-management skills.
In addition, Joanne spent a lot of time working with me, helping me to understand why he struggled in certain areas of his life, and provided me with practical tools to help my son. Joanne was always reliable well prepared and accommodating. She was wonderful to work with and we look forward to staying in touch with her.

One of our twin son’s had Mrs. Sourant as their first-grade teacher. To this day she makes the list as one of his favorites (he only has two). So, she is and forever will be a very important friend and educator to our family. As our sons grew so did their educational needs. Processing and comprehension issues became a factor with our other son and Joanne walked along side of us to recommend tests, books and therapies that would bring out the best in him, he was just selected to the National Honor Society and received the HOPE scholarship. Joanne remained our “go to” throughout high school. That first grader is now on his way to college and received the Zell Miller scholarship. More than academics, Joanne appreciates the whole child and has a passion for understanding the student’s individual’s needs. She creates an authentic relationship then partners with the student to build confidence and get results. Joanne never quits learning and much to our benefit she is one of the most credentialed and specialized educational therapists we know. I have recommended Joanne numerous times and will continue to do so. Parents need a toolbox when it comes to their children’s education, make sure she’s in your box.
